Car and Driver’s November 2008 issue features a comparison test between the 2009 Honda Pilot, 2008 Hyundai Veracruz, 2008 Mazda CX-9, 2009 Ford Flex, and 2009 Toyota Highlander. The Pilot shone brightly, prompting C&D to gush with such praises as: “A veritable woodsman off-road [with the] torsional rigidity of an I-beam” and “none of [the other] crossovers surpassed the Pilot’s off-road prowess.”
