NEWS: Why Buying New Is Smarter Than Ever13nov08
Car and Driver asks:”What car—for the money—delivers the best combination of power, handling, and braking?”
They ranked the cars by price: Under $30,000, $30,000 to $60,000, $60,000 to $120,000, $120,000 to $240,000, and over $240,000. Among such superstars as the BMW M3, Chevrolet Corvette, Nissan GT-R, Ferrari 430 Scuderia, and others, were the Civic Mugen Si (of which we have one in stock at a significant discount), and the S2000 CR.
About the Civic, they praised: “All of the floppiness we complained about in the base Si [on the racetrack in last year's test] has been eliminated in the Mugen.” The S2000 CR found favor with their drivers for its aerodynamic modifications: “A few runs up VIR’s climbing esses convinced us that perhaps the downforce-generating aero elements really do work—this was one of the few cars that allowed us to do the series of turns flat out, although it also was endowed with the fourth-lowest horsepower rating.”
You’ll have to head over to Car & Driver’s website to read the whole article, but you can read Autoblog’s coverage of the event as well.
